NAIFA's Iowa chapter held a state Legislative Day in Des Moines last week. The event featured a morning advocacy training session and afternoon meetings with state legislators at the Capitol. NAIFA-IA also hosted an ice cream social with lawmakers. 

Iowa is one of three states to have adopted the Suitability in Annuity Transactions Model Regulation recently amended by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). NAIFA is urging other states to adopt the NAIC model, which would enhance consumer protections while ensuring agents and advisors are able to effectively continue serving consumers in Iowa.
